#66 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2012 Really hard to beat the incredible value this vibrant red delivers. Marchesi di Barolo is a historic producer in Piedmont and their portfolio includes extraordinary single vineyard Barolos, but at the introductory end we find this delicious Barbera that’s easy to love from both taste and budget standpoints. Blended with 10% Dolcetto for added smoothness, this wine is brimming with charming ripe cherry fruit and supple racy tannins. The Wine Spectator liked it so much they put it on their Top 100 list. Scoring it 90 points, they said "A dark, succulent red, exuding black cherry, blackberry and violet aromas and flavors. Pure and focused, with a long aftertaste of sweet fruit, flowers and spice."
