Food Pairings for Manzoni Santa Lucia Highlands Home Vineyard Pinot Noir
Our Pinot Noir grapes were destemmed into open top fermenters; we induced primary fermentation with two specialized yeast strains known for their ability to maintain color and produce intense flavors. After fermentation, the wine was pressed into a combination of new and one year old French oak barrels where it matured for 10 months. Only 441 cases were produced.
The 2010 Manzoni Pinot Noir has cherry and red berry berry fruit characters that dominate the nose, backed by Burgundian nuances of vanilla and hard spices . On the palate, the ripe and lush berry and spicy flavors are backed by moderate acidity and medium-weight tannins. While delicious now, it will certainly reward a few years of careful cellaring.
