Always a sell out- especially the 04 vintage. It offers greater freshness than the Castelletto, with notable vibrancy to its generous fruit. The finish is delicate and long, as ethereal aromas linger in the empty glass. The Gramolere was aged predominantly in 500 liter barrels with 15-20% of the juice seeing larger 20-hectoliter barrels. It is one of the finest wines I have tasted from this small, artisanal producer. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024. This is a very strong set of releases from Giovanni Manzone. I have always found an element of rusticity here, but the 2004s may well signal a move towards more elegant, refined Barolos.

This disarmingly tasty wine is typical of how seductive and forward so many 1993 Barolos have turned out.
The 1997 Barolo La Gramolere is stylish and complex, with subdued oak and vibrant, expressive, expansive sweet cherry fruit oozing from both the aromas and flavors. The wine is structured, with a sweet mid-palate and finish. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2020.
The 1997 Barolo Le Gramolere possesses a medium ruby color with pink at the edge. An elegant, lighter-styled 1997 with spicy tobacco/herbaceous notes intermixed with cranberries, cherries, and red currants, this vibrant wine should;d be drunk over its first 10-12 years of life.
Fresh and floral on the nose, with bright berry and strawberry undertones. Full-bodied, yet delicate and silky-textured. Builds on the palate. A classy wine. Very well done. Best after 2011.

Gorgeous aromas of ripe fruit, spices and light cedar. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish. This is balanced and wonderfully made, with great concentration. Great value too. Best after 2007.
