The 2000 Barolo Conca reveals terrific depth in its soft, succulent dark fruit. The wine is equally fleshy on the mid-palate and finish. Despite its considerable freshness, the wine is best enjoyed over the near and mid-term. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014.

The 2000 Barolo Conca, fresher and more penetrating on the nose, spicier and riper as well, supplies more fruit on the palate, a broader and ampler consistence, and a larger sense of volume on the finish. With a bit more meat, the wine would step up in stature.

Wonderfully aromatic and pure, with fresh flowers and raspberries on the nose. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a long finish. Slightly linear but very clean and focused. This is terrific. Best after 2008.
