Mansion House Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Mansion House Bay was formed in 1993 and by Greg and Sue White, and winemaker, Simon Waghorn. Their aim was to establish a winery in Marlborough producing premium quality varietal wines. To achieve this they have brought together a leading New Zealand winemaker, a dedicated group of growers, and a small modern winery facility where top quality fruit can receive the 'hands-on' treatment that it needs to achieve its full potential. This wine is straw green in colour. There are gooseberry, redcurrant and lemon aromas, and it is full and assertive on the nose and palate. Medium to full bodied with vibrant acidity intertwined with crisp fruits, it finishes with a zesty, long finish. Try with roast chicken with rosemary-orange butter, sautéed langoustine with Chardonnay reduction or lobster crisps in champagne-dill sauce.
