Mandrarossa Pinot Grigio 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

The name MandraRossa derives from a viticultural district overlooking the seaside of Menfi in Sicily. These wines are suitable for consumers who are attentive and sensible towards the balance between the wine, the culture and the traditions of the producing area. Many aspects have contributed to the vineyards of MandraRossa, such as: the mild climate, the productivity of the land and the worker's care. The Settesoli winery operates on 6,500 hectares of vineyards, but over the years, it has selected 600 hectares as the most productive. Next to the traditional varietals, such as Grecanico and Nero d'Avola, the MandraRossa vineyards have today become international and Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah also thrive here. Bursting with tropical fruit flavours, this wine is fresh and lively with a long, dry finish. It has more body than most Pinot Grigio's from the North of Italy, making it ideal with food. A wonderful summer drinking wine, it pairs well with fish, seafood and white meat dishes.
