I had this wine at a tasting and loved it. I'm a die hard chard fan, but this had just enough depth with a exotic finish that I was sold! I'm so glad to find it here, as I can't seem to locate it for sale in my home town of Charleston, SC

A definite bargain wine! The appearance is clear and very inviting. It leaves behind some oiliness when swirled, which makes sense due the fact that it's a fruity wine and has a high alcohol content. This Fiano has a rich, peachy smell. The taste is plump and expressive, it's on the sweeter side, but never approaches too sweet. The flavor lingers for several seconds before fading. I didn't pair this wine with food, but I would definitely take it along with me to a sushi restaurant (that has a BYOW policy of course!). Overall this is an excellent, inexpensive wine that most people would appreciate!

Fiano 2008 - 85 points, Wine Enthusiast/ Easy going and well priced, this light Fiano is an informal companion to summertime foods. Aromas here include peach, citrus and mineral and the wine is sharp and clean on the close.

MandraRossa is a premium range of estate-bottled wines from one of Sicily's most respected and progressive wine producers. Located in the historic town of Menfi in the southwest corner of this idyllic Mediterranean island, MandraRossa is led by Diego Planeta, President since 1973. MandraRossa’s extensive investment in advanced winemaking technology, combined with the expertise of a distinguished team of five full time winemakers has resulted in an outstanding line of wines that capture the flavors, essence and mystique of Sicily. Production Area The MandraRossa estate vineyards near the town of Menfi in southwestern Sicily. Sourced from vineyards first planted in 1989 at an altitude between 650 – 820 feet above sea level. Grape Varieties 100% Fiano Vinification The grapes are manually harvested in mid-August. The grapes are de-stemmed and the resultant must is rapidly chilled to 46°F on its way to the press. Some portions of the fruit are given skin contact in order to extract flavor and body. After a very gentle press, the juice is cold settled prior to fermentation with selected yeasts at 59 – 64°F in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Color Brilliant pale yellow with hints of green Bouquet Ripe tropical fruits and citrus aromas Taste Medium-bodied and dry with elegant balance. The fruit and citrus aromas on the nose evolve on the palate in an array of fruit flavors. Alcohol 13.5% Serving Suggestions Enjoy with chicken and turkey entrées, fish and grilled vegetables.

Fiano 2007/ MandraRossa's well-priced Fiano offers Golden Delicious apple, banana and almond skin. The wine has a candy-like quality overall, but it's also genuine and simple with an easy approach.
