Maldonado Chardonnay Napa Valley Los Olivos Vineyard 2008

Member Review by donealrice:

Yum! Chardonnay typically not a favorite for me but I slurped this one down. At price point, would not have bought if had been able to get at a tasting. Even the nose was delicious, well balanced. A somehow silky, balanced blend of tastes and textures including some fruits (without going citrus, fruity or pineapple-y), drier than some Chardonnay but well balanced there, too. Smooth without the nearly fake in your face butter some cards try for. Hard to describe but very easy to drink.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
