Maldonado Chard 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

There are times Ill run across a Chardonnay that far surpasses most others Ive tasted, not often, but it has been known to happen. Case in point, this new release from Maldonado Family Vineyards is all fruit from the Parr Vineyard located in Sonoma County and is just a brilliantly flavored wine I cant say enough about. It full-bodied, yet elegantly styled and beautifully balanced between fruit and acidity - its not lacking for anything and is loaded with tropical fruits, even coconut, that just continue to build on the palate.

Hands down, this is my FAVORITE Chardonnay, and probably will be for some time. Unfortunately for us, theres not much to go around (less than 1,000 cases produced), and at this price, Ill be lucky to have it for another week or two.

A beautifully balanced Chardonnay thats perfect for pairing with food or drinking on its own. Alll fruit was sourced from the Parr Vineyards in the Sonoma Valley and aged to perfection in French oak. The proper amount of oak aging is essential to the roundness and plushness of the wine and this Maldonado delivers. Just the right amount of oak, fruit and acidity makes it a very delightful wine that drinks for twice the price.
