Malbec Tupungato Valley Tupun 2008

Member Review by Malbec Man:

These guys are very constant with their quality. Vintage after vintage, they keep delivering great values. I will never buy from the big producers in Chile or Argentina again. When you see what the smaller, more focused producers can do, it's a world of difference.

This has the "look" of the typical Argentinean malbec with the deep ruby color, but it doesn't taste like it. The first notes I got were musky and bitter. The wine was definitely much more earthy than what I was used to in a South American malbec. I actually thought the bottle might be bad, so I opened a second and had the same experience. The finish is even worse. Almost sour. Cannot recommend.

My husband and I found this wine to be acidic and sour. It has a good nose, and the initial taste is good, but the finish reminded us of kerosene.
