Maison Nicolas Merlot 2015

External Review by CityWineCellar.com:

This fruit-forward Merlot shows nice ripe cherry fruit and lots of it. The wine's smooth finish is steady and long. Great with beef, duck, lamb and by the glass.

Sauternes are the aristocrats of dessert wines, and this traditional blend of Sauvignon Blanc (70%) and Sémillon (30%) is a classic example. This wine has subtle honey-laced sweetness on the palate and a refreshing bouquet of white flowers and apricot. It finished light and sweet with a lovely hint of citrus. Serve cool, but not overly chilled with cheeses or dessert. In Europe, a glass of Sauternes is often served as an aperitif before a meal!
