The Gamay grape finds it's home in France's Burgundy region where it is responsible for the red wines of Beaujolais. Producing light to medium bodied wines with modest tannins and good acidity, Gamay is unfairly associated with Beaujolais Nouveau. It is capable of producing wonderful, cherry and raspberry flavored wines with earthy hints of violets and spice.

Light and fruity nose. This is a very light wine, hardly any tannins. I had it chilled with baked chicken and cous cous. A good summer wine - strawberry notes and a light earthiness, but simple and fruity.
