Food Pairings for Maison Frédéric Magnien Côte de Nuits-Villages 'Croix Violette' Villages
Very well-balanced and integrated, has a background taste of red soda. Nose is round, focused, full of sweet spice and earth and cooling red-black fruit notes. Hint of vegetal. Decent acid and fruit on the attack that transitions to a wonderful top layer of red berry-cherry with plum underneath. Almost a red fruit soda taste as it transitions to a finish of strong then fading red cream candy flavor. Light to medium body, medium or less acid and tannin. Very tasty.
Frédéric's wines seduce with deeply concentrated, lush, spicy fruits, and at the same time possess balance, length and breed - an honorable tribute to the prestigious premier and grand cru appellations he represents in his offerings.
