(from an absolutely pristine magnum with very little ullage - opened in Burgundy). Initially, this displayed a positively gorgeous nose of earth, spice, well aged pinot aromas and just the right amount of sous bois followed by rich, full, textured and lacy yet powerful flavors and a velvety, long, mouth coating finish. After an hour of air, the nose in particular began to decline and the flavors became a bit soupy. Still, this was magnificent and in superb condition for the vintage.
