Maison Bleue Marsanne Petite Joie Yakima Valley Boushey Vineyard 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

This 100% Marsanne displays bold aromatics of almond paste, jasmine flowers, quince, melon and orange Grand Marnier. The wine is viscous without being too oily, exhibiting lush flavors of apricot and peach, marzipan, toasted hazelnuts, good underlying minerality, balanced acidity and an extraordinarily long finish. 143 cases produced. 2009 vintage rated 94 points by Wine Advocate.

Joie has been a constantly evolving concept that began as a guesthouse and critically acclaimed cooking school, located outdoors, formerly in our orchard. In 2007 the orchard was planted over to grape vines and a new winery building was built on the property. The story and of the cooking school and guesthouse have been captured in Heidi's award winning book Menus from an Orchard Table (Whitecap, 2007). With the addition of our own estate grown fruit in 2009, we have changed our name to JoieFarm to reflect our deeper connection to the place we call home. Read less

This was a really interesting wine, very floral. Wasn't sure after the first taste, but gradually grew on us. Went really well with seafood - had this @ Willows Inn on Lummi Island 6/12
