What to Expect

Pinot Noir: Responsible for some of the greatest wines on earth - the exhausted red wines of France's Burgundy region. Beautiful oak integration with rich ripe fruit. I think I jumped the gun by popping the cork on this infant. If you are willing to wait, this is a great retirement wine.

A great Pommard - very big and packed with dense ripe fruit.

I picked up this gem at a discount for current consumption while waiting out the more powerful 2005. As it turned out, this wine would have improved over the next 3 or 4 years. Wonderful concentration and depth with the consistency of coagulated hemoglobin. For a beverage of this quality and provenance, a reference to blood is not a bad thing; you can be sure this Pommard has power, density and superior craftsmanship.

My compliments, Monsieur Bichot.
