Mahi Pinot Noir Marlborough 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Since its inception as a winery in 2001, Mahi has made its mark on New Zealand wines and continues to expand. The name Mahi was chosen, meaning ‘our work, our craft’ to show that the label was owned by wine-focussed people, who lived wine, rather than just a label dreamt up to fulfil a market segment for a couple of years. This wine is a fragrant, supple and complex pinot with mouth-filling cherry and plum flavours and soft tannins. This is an approachable and refreshing glass of wine with deep fruit characteristics combined with lighter red fruits to produce a delicate wine with structure and finesse.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
