The vineyard is located near to Oriveto in Umbria at 450m above sea level; terroir is a mix of sandy/volcanic soils on southeast facing slopes. On the eye it is lemon yellow with greenish hints. Lots of fruits and flowers specifically; melon, peach blossom, lime zest and a hint honeysuckle coming through on the nose. Tropical fruity entrance accompanied with a zesty bite of citric fruits, bursting into lots of mineral notes, which you would expect from the terrior of the vineyard. Well structured with a nice balance of fruit and acidity. The oiliness of the Viognier comes through to make this young 2010 seem a lot older than its years. Perfectly complimented by wok cooked sliced chicken and potato, sprinkled with fresh coriander and grated chili served on a bed of basmati rice or could well go with grilled fish on a summers day in a port for yachts, or medium cured goat cheeses on a picnic in the countryside.

Fits perfectly with seafood and all sorts of fish dishes as well as with Asian cuisine! The volcanic soil yields a subtle mineral component as the harmonious distributions of elements predict a long, lingering, sensory impression. This creates a clear sensation on the palate that doesn’t surface with too much heaviness.
