Fausto Maculan began his love affair with wine at a very early age, in fact when he was 14, despite his love of classical studies, his father enrolled him at the school of enology in Conegliano, where he graduated with honors in 1970. Fausto’s drive and commitment have set his wines apart and distinguish Maculan as one of Italy’s most innovative and dynamic wineries. This Palazzotto is one of his more forward and enjoyable wines as well as a best value. From a vineyard in the Breganze region of Northern Italy with gravelly soil and deep-rooted vines, 100% Cabernet is sourced. Yields are kept low and only best, most healthy grapes are selected. Temperature-controlled fermentation is followed by 6 months if aging French barriques and 6 months in the bottle. This Cab is elegant and intense with hints of licorice, berries and toasted oak.

Deep ruby-red with garnet hues, offering seductive aromas of blackberries and dark cherries, along with hints of cedar and forest. On the palate, the wine is dry, full-bodied and harmoniously balanced with a firm tannic backbone and distinct bold flavors. Recommended with roasted and grilled meats, as well as hearty winter stews or pastas. Edited from the importer's website
