Macphail Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

90 points Connoisseurs' Guide: It is not all that uncommon for a winery's appellation Pinot to outshine it pricier, single-site siblings, and that is very much the case here. From its juicy, black cherry aromas to its moderately deep, layered, long-lasting flavors and its supple, nicely rounded palatal feel, this is a well-focused wine whose varietal credentials are never in doubt, and its quiet inklings of complexity suggest that, however tasty it is at the moment, it will gain from a few years of keeping. (Feb 2017)
