Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Open and soft, with rich, attractive flavors of caramel, milk custard and peaches. There is ripeness in abundance, followed by great intensity of flavor. Subtle wood underlines the wine.

Light, bright yellow. Lightly smoky tangerine, pear and peach on the nose, with a gentle floral quality adding complexity. Medium-bodied citrus and orchard fruit flavors are gently lifted by tangy minerals and finish with bright citrus tang. Well-balanced wine, with clean, focused fruit and good energy.

I know it seems crazy to buy a $36 Macon, but I can promise you, the Leflaive Macirc;con-Verzeacute; drinks like a $50 bottle. This is probably the smoothest Chardonnay I have ever tasted mdash; and so buttery, you could just spread it right on your toast. The oak is well integrated, and the fruit is ripe and very rich. Some mineral on the back end adds a great depth and complexity, and balances perfectly with the other elements of the wine. If you are a fan of Meursault or Chassagne Montrachet, this is one to check out.

Founded in 1717, Domaine Leflaive has long been considered one of the most highly regarded white wine growers in Burgundy. Currently under the stewardship of Anne-Claude Leflaive, the Domaine's conversion to biodynamic farming in 1990 has produced remarkable results, raising the standard for one of the world's greatest wines even higher.
