Macmurray Ranch Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

The grapes were hand harvested and carefully handled when transported to the winery. The fruit was de-stemmed and cold soaked before being transferred into open top fermenters. After primary fermentation, the wine underwent secondary, or malolactic fermentation, and was racked and filtered. The wine was then aged in a mixture of one and two year old French oak barrels prior to bottling.

Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

The Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir is characteristic of Central Coast appellated Pinot Noir, which showcases deep violet red color hues with spicy and savory flavors and aromas. Nuances of subtle oak with hints of sweet vanilla add layers of complexity lead to a well structured and balanced wine. Expressive flavors of briar, black cherry and clove spice meld together with bright acidity and supple tannins to produce an elegant, yet concentrated wine.
