Editorial Reviews for MacMurray Ranch Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Sweet and darkly spicy with a candied blackberry tone and a hint of black pepper over slightly weedy and slightly wood sweetened fruit. Quite acidic in the mouth with a small ball of sweet, dark cherry fruit framed by a ton of acid, that leads to a woody finish with astringent tannins and a metallic tone. 83pts

Add your reviewI fell in love with the 2003 and it remains a sumptuous easy drinking pinot for a bargain price. I see usually it's $22, but I found it for $14. Delishhhhh.
For the Price this bottle really shines, this was the value pinot noir by the glass at my restaurant and it beat out our own Candela cuvee. Cherrys, bruleed mission figs and raspberry creme brulee all describe the complex flavour of this wine.
GDP, I wonder if you got a bad bottle!? This is always a treat. Sumptuous raspberry, strawberry, cherry and spice. Nice acidity balancing a spicy, floral, complex pinot noir. It evolves in the glass and on the palate. I'd stack this against much more costly pinots!! I am so happy I have two more bottles waiting for me!
External Reviews for MacMurray Ranch Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
From the Sonoma Coast wine region, this Pinot Noir has elegant varietal fruit character expressing rich aromas and flavors of red fruits and fresh, earthy notes. Restrained when young, it will evolve into a smooth, complex wine with time in the bottle.
This is a classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, with concentrated fruit flavors of red and black fruits. Deep black cherry notes are complimented by subtle oak to add richness and depth to the finish. This is an earthy wine with nuances of brown spice that will pair well with rack of lamb, grilled salmon and Shitake mushroom risotto.
The Fred Macmurray ranch in the Russian River produces the finest inexpensive Pinot made in America. Delicious soft, spicy red fruits with fresh acidity and a charming, mouth coating warmth on the finish. Perfect with Turkey!
The Russian River Valley is one of Californias most celebrated sources of world class Pinot Noir. The region is blessed with strong maritime influences, specifically, a cool climate defined by the fog that follows the river valley to blanket the vineyards. Warm days and cool nights encourage distinct varietal characters in the ripening grapes. Since the 1960s, the Russian River Valley has been home to the pioneers of New World Pinot Noir.
