I'm more inclined to a full-bodied zinfandel or cab than PN which I normally find a bit weak and wishy-washy. However I loved this one for its rich cherry fruit and slightly sweet spice undertone. Really pleasant lingering finish that left the same feeling as cloves after a bite of apple pie.

Very, very good pinot noir for the price. High toned cherry and raspberry fruit aromas, with a touch of all spice. Silky texture in the midpalate and finish. Flavors of cherry, raspberry, allspice, and cobbler. If you can pay under $20 for this, it's a steal.

Don't like this as much as the Sonoma Coast. Black cherry and raspberry aromas and flavors. Not in balance, a touch of alcoholic heat, and no bright fruit at the core to liven things up. Lacks essential acidity, but will appeal to people who like their Pinots to taste like a big Syrah.

Mild nose with delicate floral perfume, rose, faint cherry and red berries, blackberry, clay, white pepper, vanilla, and spice. Heat of spice greets first taste, followed by cherry and floral notes, blackberry undertones, cherry pops, clay, and more spice with slight pepper and vanilla on fairly short finish. Not a powerful or complex wine -- indistinctive.

This Mac Murray pinot noir is a lot of wine for the price. A wine I would enjoy over and over again.

Wine Tasting NotesMacMurray Ranch Central Coast Pinot Noir possesses an expressive fruit character, exhibiting bright aromas of blue and red fruits of cherry, ripe blueberries and dark current. The flavors are melded together with earthy notes, balanced perfectly with the nuance of sweet vanilla from the oak aging.

Macmurray Ranch Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast The Fred Macmurray ranch in the Russian River produces the finest inexpensive Pinot made in America. Delicious soft, spicy red fruits with fresh acidity and a charming, mouth coating warmth on the finish. Perfect with Turkey!

Riper in style that the Sonoma Coast wine, this is fat with saturated black raspberry and spice. Oak plays a role in the spiciness, bringing out a bay leaf edge, suggesting a dinner of roast pork with a dry rub of sage and bay.

This wine does indeed come from the ranch that Fred MacMurray bought as a retreat from his Hollywood duties as television's most famous father of three ("My Three Sons") and the silver screen's most famous disgruntled insurance salesman ("Double Indemnity"). The Pinot Noir produced here is some of the state's best, good enough to attract the attention of the Gallos, who recently bought the property from MacMurray's daughter. Ripe, shapely and plush, with bing cherry and sandlewood aromas and flavors.

A real bargain with its combination of great pinot fruit and cool weather winemaking; the nose exhibits cherry, strawberry, with high tone spicy notes; on the palate, the weight and fruit is balanced by acidity and elegance; medium-long finish, with the flavors and focus maintaining their presence the entire time.

This wine is a wonderful expression of the Central Coast’s cool micro-climates. It showcases flavors of bright cherries, cranberry and spices of clove, with sweet vanilla nuances lingering in a long finish. It pairs very well with a variety of different food such as roasted lamb, grilled salmon, and mixed vegetables.

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes This is a classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, with concentrated fruit flavors of deep black cherry complemented by subtle oak to add richness and depth on the finish. The secondary notes hint at the subtle spice, mushroom, forest floor or earthy notes. This wine would pair well with lamb, Pacific Northwest Salmon and mushroom risotto.
