M. Chapoutier Syrah Crozes-Hermitage les Meysonniers 2009

Member Review by zufrieden:

For a Crozes-Hermitage, this wine is hitting above weight and just full of sweet cherry and tobacco leaf on the nose; on entry, there is some black pepper, more cherry (even cranberry) and smooth, balanced tannin - though lightish compared to nearby Côte-Rôtie. The finish is medium length, but very satisfying. Excellent wine at a good price. 89 points.

M. Chapoutier:
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.
