M. Chapoutier les Greffieux Rouge France-Vallee du Rhone-Hermitage Aoc Syrah 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Deep purple red color. Aromas of raspberry, a hint of violet, a touch of olive, tapenade and rosemary, with a dominant of spice. Full flavored, elegant, very well structured and balanced.

M. Chapoutier:
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.

Ruby-red. Vibrant floral and mineral-accented red fruit aromas emphasize raspberry and redcurrant. Impressively pure and fresh with a nervy quality to the red berry flavors and a deep smoky espresso note on the back end. This grew sweeter with air the red berry flavors deepening but losing none of their precision or energy. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
