The 2007 Ermitage La Sizeranne displays a similar deep ruby/purple-tinged color in addition to sweet aromas of raspberries, black currants, smoke, gun flint, and spice. This full-bodied, well-made wine reveals outstanding richness, purity, and overall balance. Consume it over the next 15–20 years.
Glass-staining ruby. A complex bouquet offers raspberry, cherry, olive, tobacco and violet. Very syrah, with strong red and dark berry flavors and complicating notes of candied flowers and Indian spices. The spiciness carries through the finish, which is smooth, sweet and very long. This is showing good complexity already.
Chapoutier’s most basic Hermitage, this is showy and succulent without being blowsy in the least. The fruit is black and red, juicy and alive, generous yet underlined by firm, savory earthiness and a supple leather note. While it may be hard to resist now, this is built to last: Best to wait at least until 2015.
This has a core of dark plum and cooked spice notes, while slightly edgy tobacco and olive notes flitter around the edges. There’s latent grip, with a smoldering charcoal hint on the finish. Drink now through 2014.
Dark red. Wild, funky, game- and earth-accented dark fruit aromas, with strong iron and graphite components. Packed with bitter cherry and dark berry skin flavors, plus deeper espresso and dark chocolate notes. Finishes with powerful tannins and real... Stephen Tanzer. Ruby-red. Precise aromas of currant, gunflint, smoke and licorice. Juicy and penetrating; quite vibrant for 2000. This offers excellent density and volume. Very firm tannins avoid dryness. The finish is broad, smoky and persistent. But Mazoyer says t... Stephen Tanzer. A Syrah wine from Rhone in France. 2000 Chapoutier Hermitage la Sizeranne 750ml
Chapoutier did extremely well with his northern Rhone vineyards in 1991. The 1990 Hermitage-La Sizeranne, made from yields of 28 hectoliters per hectare, has closed up since bottling. The color is a... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Syrah wine from Rhone in France. 1990 Chapoutier Hermitage la Sizeranne 750ml
