What to Expect
Syrah: One of the few grapes to really be a global success. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. With age the wines can gain lovely leathery and black olive notes that make them a great match for savory and gamy dishes.

Wine Advocate ReviewThe 2003 Ermitage Chante Alouette blanc is more honeyed than the 2004, and seemingly more fragile, but intense and full-bodied. It reveals notes of hazelnuts, honeysuckle, white currants, quince, and butter. This fat white should be drunk over the next 3-5 years. Drink 2006 - 2011.Wine Tasting NotesBrilliant golden green. Complex and subtle aromas of quince, walnut, honey, ginger and accacia with a hint of lime blossom. Almond. Very elegant and good length.
