M. Chapoutier Crozes-Hermitage Petite Ruche 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

Northern Rhone. "Petite Ruche" means "little beehive" and the vineyards that produced this fresh and easy wine were formally used for bee-keeping. It has a jammy flavor with a bold fruit finish and will pair well with roasted vegetables, meats, turkey and game birds.

M. Chapoutier:
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.

A perfumy red, with black cherry fruit laced with black tea and white pepper notes. Singed sandalwood details line the finish. A fresh, mineral-tinged style. Drink now through 2017.

Bright purple. Pungent aromas of cherry and dark berries, with a peppery topnote. Taut and sharply focused, offering nervy blackcurrant and bitter cherry flavors that pick up a smoky nuance with air. Closes with firm grip, slightly drying tannins and good spicy cut.

Alluring, with perfumy black tea, sandalwood and warm fig sauce aromas, followed by black cherry, anise and white pepper notes. There's a nice sanguine edge on the sleek, medium-weight finish. Drink now through 2017.

Bright ruby. Cherry and smoky herbs on the pungent nose. Bright and incisive, with good mineral snap and back-end grip.Shows very good energy, finishing on a spicy note with gentle, harmonious tannins.
