M. Chapoutier Cotes du Rhone Aoc Belleruche 2006
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.
Herbs, herbs, herbs and herbs. As thyme-laden as Rhone hills. Tannic, med-light-bodied but feels warmly alcoholic. Ahhhh.
if you are angry about Roussillon wines, taste this big one dark red intense, complex and long that's wine!
Very nice pairing of fruit and spice flavors, long finish. Especially nice for the price. Will become a regular purchase!
Everyday wine (literally); this is a solid crowd-pleaser that's an *amazing* value. We keep coming back to this one. (nb NYC residents: sold at Spirits of Carmine)

Tiefes Purpur. Komplexe Aromatik wie Cassis/Pflaume/Zimt/Kirsche. Breitschultrig, alkoholreich. In Duft, Geschmack und Abgang herrlich nuanciert. Mehr Muskeln als Eleganz.
Wine Spectator ReviewRated 91Bright and stony, with lots of mineral, lime and blanched almond notes up front all backed by a broader feel and richer lemon verbena and melon notes on the finish. Drink now through 2009.Wine Tasting NotesBrilliant golden yellow. Hints of wine leaves and lily. Well-balanced and fresh. Candied citrus fruit aromas.
Ruby-red. Sexy red berry and cherry aromas are complicated by dusty minerals and fresh rose. Impressively pure red fruit flavors display excellent sweetness but also strong minerality finishing with excellent cut and cling. Here s another 2006 that will be delicious young. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
Wine Tasting NotesDark garnet. A touch of dry fruit, crystallised orange and pepper. Powerful, tender, chocolate and dried prune. Can be stored for a long time.
