M. Chapoutier Cote-Rotie la Mordoree Premier 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"La Mordoree has a dense ruby/purple color along with notes of licorice, roasted herbs, forest floor graphite, black currants and sweet cherries. It is medium to full-bodied...93-95+" WA 12/11 "Glass-staining ruby. Deeply pitched cherry and blackcurrant on the pungent nose, with complicating notes of licorice and black tea. Dense and chewy, with powerful bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors lifted by gentle acidity. Becomes livelier with air and picks up a smoky quality that carries through the long, spicy finish...91-94" IWC 3/12

M. Chapoutier:
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.
