M. Chapoutier Cornas 2003

Member Review by zufrieden:

Here is a Cornas from a good vintage and a well-respected shipper. Lots of red fruit on the noise with a hint of bite (acetyl). Lots of acidity on the palate which (wrongly) suggests aging potential beyond the present as the red fruit core is disappearing fast. Some tannins remain, but little depth - a surprising issue given the vintage. An excellent food wine, but a bit dry and a non-show mid-palate. A footnote on this wine; my bottle is embossed in braille...

M. Chapoutier:
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.
