M. Chapoutier 'Bila-haut' Cotes du Roussillon Blanc 2016

Member Review by zufrieden:

OK, so this wine is about 14 clams in the Great White North (our dollar is worth more at 1.02:1.00, so the comparison is even worse). But the wine is quite a worthy tipple; the Granche Blanc core is juicy with the blend adding a touch of raw almond bitterness on the palate. And the nose? Quite neutral - like a southern Rhone - somewhat like sniffing a bunch of freshly picked Thompson Seedless. Very good value and reminds me that I need to visit this region. 86 points.

M. Chapoutier:
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.

Gold-green straw hue, aromas of citrus and stone fruits; a rich, round and bright palate with notes of lemon, grapefruit with citrus pith and racy minerals to a chalky and moderately long finish.

Bila Haut Cotes du Roussillon Blanc has floral notes on the nose. The palate showcases fruit, mineral and citrus notes. Very well balanced.
