Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

A bit leathery, chalky and nutty on the nose with hints of melon and spice adding complexity. A touch sweet on entry but the acid quickly brings this int balance. A touch large scaled and chewy on the palate, this is easy to drink with simple earthy and slightly herbal framed flavors of raspberry and lingonberry on the palate. late arriving minerality refreshes the palate, and leads to a nicely firm, zesty strawberry and mineral tinged finish. 86pts

The nose here is lovely with early suggestions of orange peel and grapefruit joined by light black currant and spicy strawberry aromas. Fairly light bodied, this doesn’t lack for structure with a nice peppering of tannin in the mouth and sufficient acidity to keep the lightly spicy raspberry and strawberry fruit lively. There’s a nice burst of spice and pomegranate on the backend that transitions to a moderately long finish of spice and fruit that ends back with on a citrus peel note. This is a bit dry and severe, just the way I like it. 90pts

Rich, smooth, pencil lead. New worldy. Light medicinal notes. Black cherry. Somewhat simple.

A very drinkable rose. Light flavors of strawberry up front and with a more sweet creamier finish. Creamier is probably not the best description, but this wine doesn't leave a big flavor impression, so a little hard to define. Definitely a good every day rose. Went well with spicy food. WF.

High quality, unadulterated, value Cote du Rhone. All the regions flavors that you can depend upon to serve with a wide variety of dishes from grilled burgers to fine cheeses.

More granite. South facing. Rich and sweet and much more fluid and more welcoming than Les Varonniers. Very easy to love although there is agreeable freshness on the finish so it is not just about sweet flattering fruit. 17/20 Jancis Robinson.

Michel Chapoutier was among the first in France to embrace the radical biodynamic agricultural teachings, for which he was initially criticized, but is now praised. He was also the first to print all his labels in Braille.
