M By Michael Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2007
94+ points Robert Parker: Former Mondavi CEO Michael Mondavi has his own boutique operation on Atlas Peak. It includes 17 acres planted on a hillside elevation of approximately 1,600 feet in volcanic white tufa. This site was once used as part of the blend for Opus One, but it is owned by Mondavi, who produces between 700 and 1,000 cases. This is, for the most part, a European, Bordeaux-styled wine, with more structure and firmness than many Napa Cabernets display in their youth. (Dec 2009)
I carefully chose my vineyard site and planted the highest quality vine stock suited for the land, to produce a wine that can compete with the greatest in the world. Utilizing my 30 years of experience, I made M with the utmost care paid to maintaining the beauty and dignity of the grapes.
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

The best wine to date that I have tasted under this label is the 2007 M by Michael Mondavi. With a production of 1,000 cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 20-22 months in French oak before bottling, it has the most opaque purple color of the group... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. Opaque core with a shimmering purple rim. The highly complex nose is full of ripe red fruit vanilla oak and leather aromas along with sweet tobacco. Acidity dances across the tongue as cassis blueberry and mocha flavors make their presence known. This is smooth on the palate with a medium to full body and tannins that build to a firm posture. Enjoy with hearty fare such as roasted pork and grilled meats. Drink over the next 15-20 years. Roland Hankerson.
