Lyeth Chardonnay 2010

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

This is crisp and lemony on the nose with a vibrantly floral top note, and a faint background orangecicle note. Smells great with nice purity of Chardonnay fruit. It is a bit soft right up front with good acids but a rather round feel to the orangecicle, and lime fruit. It’s a focused style with integrated wood tones laid over fruit that is firm and a bit steely and turns quite snappy on the finish with a nice citrus pith edge. 88pts

Bubble gum, lemongrass, coconut, and papaya on the nose. The mouth is metallic, acidic, and bitter. Not very pleasant to taste.

Slightly floral nose but not very fragrant. Lots of fruit flavors--golden apple predominates--with just a hint of butter at the end. Moderately high, but not crisp, acidity; fairly full body.

pale straw in color, medium-bodied. a somewhat restrained example of the cali-chard style. steely acidity. tree fruit aromas dominate over oak, ripeness, and malolactic aromas.

Smooth, medium bodied wine. Apple and pear notes, but no strong flavors. Smooth finish with a full mouth experience. For the price, a delightful wine experience.

Aromas of white flowers and freshly picked herbs are accented by fruit forward flavors of green apple and melon. This is a crisp, bright wine with excellent texture, a balanced acidity and creamy traces of vanilla that culminate in a long, buttery smooth finish.

Doesn’t seem to have much, if any, oak on it, but it doesn’t matter, because the underlying wine is so good, at such a nice price. Crisp and steely, it shows rich flavors of pineapples, apricots, tangerines and pears.

There’s delicate aromas of lime, flint and flowers in this medium- to full-bodied white, with green apple, pear and lime notes that are trim and focused. Drink now through 2013.
