Lyeth Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Winemaker's Notes:

"The L de Lyeth Cabernet Sauvignon was chosen because it is one of the most important components used in creating the Meritage blend upon which Lyeth has built its success. The wine allows Lyeth to showcase this varietal in a way that reveals the individual qualities it contributes. The tannins and strength of this Cabernet Sauvignon are what give the Lyeth Meritage its structure." -Winery notes

Strawberries and blackberries on a richly, sweet nose. Licorice and chocolate in the mouth - very fruity. Medium bodied, yet simple. Finishes on black licorice. Great value for $10

The nose is very jammy, with plum and blackberry aromas. The palate is primarily blackberry jam, with a bit of oak, a bit of acid and just slightly tannic. Fairly light-bodied overall, it's got a bit of everything but could use more of it all.

This was a very nice cab. It has a nice rich garnet color. I taste blackberry. It has gentle tannins and a nice finish. I like the slightly fruity (but not sweet) character. A very solid value. I will be looking for this wine and this vintner in the future. A very solid cab.

Crimson red in color.Delicious, complex hints of plum, cherry, blackberry and truffle on the nose. Rich and concentrated with layers of juicy plum, black currant and coffee nuances. A gorgeous, medim-bodied wine that finishes with polished tannins allowing the ripe fruit flavors to show through.

Opening with luscious aromas of Bing cherry and plum, this Bordeaux blend has beautifully balanced flavors that follow. The wine is medium bodied, with round tannins and a clean finish. It is very smooth and easy drinking with black cherry fruit, plum spices and mocha, rounded out by a lush, lingering finish. Serve with lamb shanks or braised short ribs.

Wonderful aromas of violets and spice, with bright fruit flavors of blackberries and red currants. Subtle notes of licorice and spice complement a nice touch of coffee flavor and toasty oak. Nicely balanced, with a silky texture.

The aromas of this luscious, complex wine lift from the glass with hints of spice and plum. Deep crimson in color with rich and concentrated dark fruit, the wine envelops the palate with layers of Bing cherry and black pepper. This wine is soft yet rich,

Dry and peppery, this Cab has brisk, furry tannins that need rich meats and cheeses for balance. It's deep in flavor, with black currant, black cherries and plum sauce.
