Lustau East India Solera Reserva Sherry NV
This wine is still made in the traditional way and at the original strength - one of the few examples left of what cream sherry should taste like. Deep amber in colour with the taste of sweet raisins, dates and figs, its rich sweet ripe fruit lingers smoothly and seductively. A powerful balance of sweetness, richness and maturity. Awarded Silver Medal at IWC 2005. Drink this as a dessert wine or as a digéstif at the end of a meal. Serve at cool room temperature
Delicious. Purchased based on Parker's 94 rating. I'll admit, it took me till the second glass to fully appreciate this wine. Quite dark to look at makes it interesting to swirl in the glass under some light. Very spicy, both on the nose and tongue. Nutty and hints of caramel. I'll give it a 92 and will be adding more to my collection.
External Reviews for Lustau East India Solera Reserva Sherry
Centuries ago, casks of solera Sherry were lashed to ships sailing for the Indies as ballast, and were later found to be extraordinarily smooth and complex, with nutty, sweet flavors. This one is great with lighter desserts and cheeses or by itself as an after-dinner treat.
