Luis Pato Maria Gomes Bruto Beiras 2009

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

From the obscure Maria Gomes grape, AKA Fernão Pires, this is wonderfully floral and lightly spicy on the nose with underlying yellow fruits. It's dry and firm in the mouth with a fairly fin mousse. A surprising sparkler with herb notes accenting the zesty citrus and melon flavors. the finish shows a bit of minerality as well. A great alternative to those looking for a reasonably priced bottle of bubbles. 89pts
