Lugana San Benedetto DOC Zenato 2017

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

A nice suggestive sweet edge of baked apricot and lemon tart greets the nose followed by hints of jasmine, ginger and wild flowers. Relatively light-bodied, this is aromatic in the mouth, with a lovely spine of citrus flavors accented with hints of bitter apple, pollen and a touch of almond and orange rind. The finish picks up on the pithy flavors, extending the finish with lemon and lime notes. 88 points

This is very floral on the nose at first, then gaining a low nutty base and some meaty ripe fruits. Light and fresh, this is surprisingly light and crisp on the palate; the nose prepares you for a bigger wine. Bright, juicy and fairly tense, this delivers some white peach, melon and green gage plum fruit in a lean, bracing, and frankly refreshing package that shows solid length. Not particularly complex, but lively 86pts

Creamy pear and floral notes, with a hint of lemon. The body is thick and buttery, really nice finish with melon and a little bit of spice on the back of the palate.

Bright fruit and floral on the nose. Bright ripe pear and green apple on the tongue. I don't know if it was just my first sip or not, but it definitely made my jaw tighten up from the tartness

Everything that a good trbbiano should be: Bone dry with stone fruit and fantastic acidity. A great antipasto wine!

This medium-bodied white is made from the Trebbiano grape in a small area between Veneto and Lombardy. It has lovely fragrances of peach blossom and Spanish broom, while the palate delivers white peach and lemon pastry flavors. It finishes crisp and clean.

Well-cut and lightly floral, with a smoky undertow and ripe notes of blood orange, pineapple and apple. Moderate finish. Drink now.

With powerful personality, its fresh fragrances are accompanied by the broader complexities that only Lugana grapes can give. Its full taste is characterised by the pleasant persistence of its after-aroma.

A wine of appealing distinctiveness, releasing crisp, fruity aromas that gradually expand to a rich complexity characteristic only of Lugana. The palate is rounded and generous, and has a wonderfully long, savoury finish.

Mitteltiefes, helles Goldgelb. Aromen von reifen Früchten wie Grapefruit und Melonen, feine Gewürznoten. Im Gaumen frisch mit schöner Fettigkeit und angenehmer Säure. Ausgewogener und erfrischender Apérowein mit mittellangem Abgang.
