Lucien Crochet Sancerre Pinot Rosé 2011
Made exclusively of Pinot Noir harvested from several parcels … a mix of Oxfordian “caillottes” and Kimmeridgian “marne”. This Rosé is made using the direct press method with the whole berries entering the pressoir. The musts ferment in temperature-controlled cuves (85%) as well as a small percentage in older barrels (15%). The fermentation occurs over three weeks. The wines is bottled in the spring of the following year.
Editorial Reviews for Lucien Crochet Sancerre Pinot Rosé
Fragrant and floral on the nose with a hint of coriander under gentle cherry and strawberry fruit. Big and intense on entry with lovely acidity and a nice dusting of mineral tannin that helps to add great definition to this on the palate. The acidity is vibrant and really supports the red berry fruit, which shows a suggestion of bitter orange extending on the finish with lovely sapidity and a return of the floral elements of the nose. Great persistence to the fruit. 91pts
oranges, a bit of peach and stone fruit. very crisp, and refreshing, nice minerality.
Minerality brings this wine together... light citrus blossoms/ strawberries on nose...palate: good acidity.. light fennel weed, bright red berries, all tamed with a mineral finish. Excellent rose.
Very light peach color in the glass. Very aromatic nose with a slight floral backing. Slightly over sweet at first but mellows out to a nice lasting finish. Refreshing. Great summer wine
Crisp and clean. Aroma floral with red berries, palate bright with red fruits. Firm acidity, great with food. Very refreshing.
Light, lively and with a little oily texture that lingers on the tongue with a sliver of minerality and delicate fruit. :)
Stony, mineral nose with nice strawberry aromas. Some herbal notes. Cranberry. It's crisp and refreshing in the palate with flavors of cranberry, light pomegranate, strawberry and raspberry. Possesses a slight copper metallic tone. Hints of shortbread. Off dry with good acid and nice structure. 6/20/12
Not too bad at all. A typical rose in all aspects. Best part was that it was fairly dry. A short finish with a slight hint of fruit. Woul buy this one
