Lucien Albrecht Riesling Réserve 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

Riesling Reserve is made from their best selection of this noble varietal. The wine is distinguished by a piercing and beautiful aroma suggesting spring flowers. The wine is bone dry and delicious. The Riesling is considered the signature wine of the Albrecht family. Quick, floral and mineral smell, it reveals itself slightly spiced and elegant in the mouth.

A bit waxy on the nose with with floral and spice notes framing a modest core of dusty white fruit. Supple and round in the mouth, this is easy going with mineral flecked golden apple flavors that are supported by firm yet integrated acidity. There’s a touch of mintiness in the mouth and hints of red berry fruits as well all leading to a clean, dry finish. 85pts

Lighter nose of stone and petrol and lime aromas. Some hints of spring flowers. Dry and delicious. Always enjoy this wine. Nice spice and mineral notes with wonderful texture, good structure with flavors of pear, lychee and lime zest. 93 pts. 4/20/13

This one has a great creaminess to it, with sour apple on the nose and a very lovely creaminess. Enjoyable coconut finish.

Clear bright straw, very moderate nose of tangerine and mineral, orange pulp, green melon rind and an avalanche of wet rock on the palate to a graceful, but short finish. It did not work with our orange glazed prawns.

Had this before and it was a very nice riesling. Something must have gone wrong with this bottle though, because it was grassy, tight and sour. All other times, it's been a solid, good example of Alsacean riesling.

Fresh and juicy, this balanced version displays rich flavors of McIntosh apple, cantaloupe, stone and guava. Tense mid-palate and a zesty finish. Drink now through 2018.

Wine Tasting NotesA lively nose, floral and mineral, which becomes elegant and robust in the mouth. To be served with fish, crustaceans and shellfish.
