Lucien Albrecht Pinot Noir Réserve 2010
Editorial Reviews for Lucien Albrecht Pinot Noir Réserve
This is rather aromatic with notes of bitter apples, quartz, dusty tree bark and a light, almost honied, spice tone with a touch of musk. Rather focused on entry, this broadens nicely on the back end where it reveals a richly fruited sweet core of fruit. There’s a touch of spice here as well, adding some complexity. The acidity is bright but well-balanced. Not profound, but this delivers a lovely balance of fruit and spice that shows excellent persistence and adds a little mineral on the finale. 88pts
This has rather impressive and fresh sweet apple, mango and mint aromas on the nose with top notes of honeycomb and sweet flowers. In the mouth, this tends to the soft and broad style, with plenty of ripe apple fruit underlain with some mineral notes. A touch of treacle on the back end adds a slight sweetness to the modest mineral and lime finish. Lovely nose but the palate doesn’t rise to the occasion. 87pts
Melon apples nice fruit on palate with good acidity backing it up, a little peach, some sweet nector, nice on its own or with food
this is the perfect sushi wine. goes great with soy sauce and wasabi!
Golden straw hue, aromas of dried apples and dried melon with a honey spice; round flavor notes of yellow melon, citrus and apple dance across the palate with a viscious, oily hint of spice and mineral on a moderately long finish.

Dry with a delicate flavor of rose and lychee.

All of Albrecht's grapes are harvested by hand. The wine makers rule of thumb is: "respect the grape". Also, fermentation temperatures are strictly controlled in order to create a well balanced wine.
An elegant rosandeacute; crandeacute;mant, featuring fresh cherry, strawberry and green plum notes. This is lively and balanced, with a lingering juicy finish. Drink now.
While Albrecht's Pinot Blanc Cremant dandrsquo;Alsace (a genre Lucien Albrecht was prominent in legally codifying) is delicious, it is a bit simple to count as a top value at $24, whereas their non-vintage Cremant dandrsquo;Alsace Brut Rose andmdash; a pure Pinot Noir andmdash; is more intriguing and distinctive. Along with strawberry and red raspberry fruit suggestions that are enhanced by the wine's discreet hint of sweetness, there are saline, meaty, and herbal notes to add interest to both the nose and a lush palate, and the hints of salinity and bitterness in the finish make for an invigorating complement to the wine's prominent fruit. This comes in a light-sensitive clear bottle, and I could identify no lot number, so make sure that whoever sells you a bottle will take responsibility for freshness and proper storage.
