Lots of sweet, toasty oak spice on the nose is accompanied a touch of chalk and some savory, meaty, almost jerky tones. On entry a slight edge of sweetness is quickly washed away by bright and tart cherry and strawberry fruit. This is rather elegant, and fairly surprisingly transparent with good length still driving the light sweet edge here, tight with a traditional mouth feel that is less dark, matte and oaky than previous vintages. Finishes with excellent length rich with sour and astringent red fruits. Is this just a vintage anomaly? 91pts

Very shallow, vaguely woodsy, a bit blueberry/blackberry, a touch raw woody. Good acids but still rather flat in the mouth. Dark fruit, anonymous fruit, rich and rather velvety, broad but low, a touch of coffee, coffee crema, short finish. (80-82pts)

AWE blind tasting - fine oak notes, candied, candied raspberry leathery, nice fruit is a little simple, a bit flaccid up front, lacks some vibrancy, nice deep fruit on the mp is monolithic and feels a bit extracted, heavy on the backend, no detail, extracted feel on the finish with a touch of nice earth adding a bit of complexity 83-84

This has subtle but decidedly woody notes on opening then a sweet candied core that recalls root beer and black berry soda with an edge of animal fat. It gains some nice complexity with note of sweet herbs, vanilla, and a spicier, pancetta tone. While one could say this is suave and sexy in the mouth with its slick, polished feel the loose structure and nutty, cigarette ash laced fruit lacks depth and complexity. This is very approachable and lacks the structure and general fruit one should expect from Barolo and while drinkable fails to elicit any happiness. A well made but dead wine. 2008-2012 80pts.

certainly less oak here, similar to the 1985 with more distinct limestone and tar, really crisp, clean, and well deliniated nose, wood offer a complimentary note and is in fine balance, faint bresaola note, really typical notes on the nose, hints of grapevine smokiness, warm strawberries, nice spice notes form a backdrop, leaner in the mouth but more of an etched quality to the fruit, such a core of deep and intense fruit, a hint of muskiness, very tense and crisp, lots of red cherry fruit, quite compact, sneaky finish is moderately long, will improve, it is a bit simple at this stage but has great purity, the fruit becomes more pronounced with time, very dark cherry, very powerful and youthful, very sweet palate impression, really perfectly ripe fruit 93pts

Now, this one is close to perfection. from a single vineyard "Cannubi Bosichis" this Barolo treasures all the Piemonte's undergrowth aromas mixed with the darkest fruit. porcini, truffle. sage and flowers mingles with crushed dark plums, cherries and blueberries. as it sits in your glass notes of chocolate, toffee and currants emerge. this wine is incredibly complex and sincerely a shame to open before 2015. enjoy this sublime Nebbiolo over the next 40+ years.

This nose is divine. Aromas of perfumes, roses and ripe fruit. Full body, with fine tannins and a dark chocolate finish. Tight and very, very pretty. Needs to loosen up a bit with about three to four years of bottle age. Better in 2014. James Suckling. A Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont in Italy. 2008 Luciano Sandrone Barolo Cannubi Boschis 750ml

Good bright ruby-red. Deeper but less forthcoming on the nose than Le Vigne, hinting at black cherry, menthol and flowers. Then broader and deeper on the palate, conveying a more classically dry impression than the wonderfully sweet, round 2007. As creamy as this is, it’s dominated today by its impression of energy and medicinal black cherry reserve. Most impressive right now on the tightly coiled, rising, electric finish, which unfurls spectacularly as the wine sits in the glass. A great expression of Cannubi terroir.

The 2008 Barolo Cannubi Boschis is stunningly beautiful. It, too, is quite subtle and understated. The 2008 is a gorgeous, mid-weight wine laced with sweet red cherries, flowers, spices, mint and minerals. This is a decidedly feminine, gracious Cannubi Boschis that impresses for its elegance, class and finesse. Sweet floral notes add brightness on the Pinot-like, vibrant finish. The wine keeps getting better and better in the glass. This, too, is a dazzling effort. Anticipated maturity: 2016–2028.

In the menthol mode, with additional flavors of cherry, tobacco and hints of tar, this red is bright and focused. The dusty tannins on the finish are complimented by sweet fruit. Offers fine, chewy length. Best from 2017 through 2035.

The 2007 Barolo Cannubi Boschis dazzles from start to finish. It shows marvelous delineation and freshness in its voluptuous, harmonious fruit, with no hard edges and an expansive, textured personality that conquers both the palate and intellect. Here, too, the oak is very well integrated, while the wineandrsquo;s balance and overall sense of harmony are nothing short of stunning. This is one of the very finest vintages of Cannubi Boschis. Anticipated maturity: 2017andndash;2032.
