Luciano Landi Lacrima di Morro d'Alba 2008

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

If you're looking for a unique and mind boggling experience, this is your wine. Dark, inky, unoaked, blue-ish purple in color and redolent of violet pastilles and plums on the nose - there is nothing like it. This is made from the Lacrima grape, which also lends its name to the name of the wine: Lacrima di Morro d'Alba. It comes from the Marche region located in central, coastal (Adriatic side) Italy. It is only cultivated in the the commune of Morro d'Alba in the province of Ancona and since its inception to the DOC community in 1985 has experienced a revival of sorts that we're most happy to indulge upon.
