Even better is the 2006 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard. Superb aromas of truffles, underbrush, spring flowers, black cherries, and black currants emerge from this deep, full-bodied, exuberant but gorgeously balanced and pure effort. Drink this full-bodied, compelling Pinot over the next 5-6 years.
The outrageously sumptuous, complex 2007 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is a compelling example of Pinot Noir from the Santa Lucia Highlands. Ten to twelve percent whole clusters were used during fermentation, and the wine was aged in 50% new oak. Sumptuous aromas of kirsch, black raspberries, fresh mushrooms, and forest floor are very Burgundian as well as intense. In the mouth, the wine is full and beautifully concentrated, with silky tannins and a long finish. Drink this sensational Pinot over the next 5-8+ years.
The 2003 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard possesses a dense ruby/plum color along with scents of sweet and sour cherries, flowers, earth, and wood spice, an open-knit texture, a precocious style, plush fruit flavors, and a long finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
Bright medium ruby. Reticent but pure nose offers blackberry, violet, tar, licorice and minerals. Suave and silky-smooth in texture, and distinctly gentler than the 2005.
