External Reviews for Lucente Toscana
Blend: 50% Merlot, 35% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. A powerful, dense ruby, flecked with purple, announces Lucente, followed by a seductively elegant and measured suite of aromatics. In the mouth, Lucente's sheer volume is noteworthy, building steadily on the palate, and brilliantly supported by a core of tannins that are dense and fine-grained, but at the same time lively and expressive. The finale is velvety, delicious, and appealing.
Sweet ripe fruit with complementing vanilla oak, a complex and intense wine with supple tannins. Located in the viticultural zone of Montalcino, southwest of this medieval town, the Luce della Vite estate comprises 192 hectares, with approximately 55 under vine. Originally a joint venture between Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi, today the wine estate is part of the Tenute di Toscana holding company, which in turn is controlled by Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi. Lamberto Frescobaldi now has the responsibility of shaping the future of the wine project originally undertaken by the founders. Grapes : 75% Merlot, 25% Sangiovese Region : Italy / Tuscany / Toscana IGT Maker : Nicolò D'Afflitto Notes : Complex and intense wine with supple tannins. Sweet ripe fruit with complementing vanilla oak made in an international style. Serve : Roast meats, hearty stews and casseroles ABV : 14.50% Suitable for Vegetarians
Luce della Vite began in 1995, as a collaborative venture between Marchesi de' Frescobaldi, one of Tuscany's most prestigious fine-wine producers, and Robert Mondavi, world-wide symbol of American wine. The two companies, both major figures in the wine world and similar in culture and style, shared with each other their wealth of experience. They joined forces with the common goal of creating and offering to the international marketplace unique Tuscan wines of great distinction, from exceptional growing areas and vineyards In 2005 Marchesi de' Frescobaldi purchased all of Robert Mondavi Luce della Vite shares, which subsequently went to Mondavi Investment Partner LLC, the limited partnership begun by Robert Mondavi's son Michael. The current company structure, in which the Michael Mondavi family holds a financial interest, thus re-unites the two great wine families and ensures the future of the Luce della Vite project. A great future is assured...
