Luce Toscana 2008
Luce appears a very dense, concentrated purple-red. The nose exhibits remarkable finesse, releasing notes of wild blackberry and sour cherry, backgrounded by peppery eucalyptus and minerally impressions of pencil lead. Capping the aromatic array are appealing notes of baker's chocolate and tobacco leaf. The wine shows a superb attack, with the densest of tannic suites. The palate expands impressively, with a tasty vein of acidity that beautifully knits together all of its constituents. A near-endless finish adds the final harmonious touch. Sangiovese 45%, Merlot 55%

Deep maroon core with a paler rim. Classic Tuscan nose with notes of red and black cherry plum licorice baking spice and cedar. Very polished with nice texture. Vibrant acidity carries this through the mid-palate before a finish flavored with notes of dark chocolate and raspberry. The tannins are grippy but fine. John Sweeney.
Luce della Vite opens with an inky dark appearance and added extraction that is hard to find otherwise in 2008 Brunello. Soft aromas of cherry and blackberry are followed by supple fragrances of leather and spice. There is fruit pulp in the mouth and the wine s extra richness really helps to balance out its acidity and those still-young tannins. -M.L. Wine Enthusiast.
