External Reviews for Luce Luce Storica Della Vite Ml
Subtle aromas of chocolate, berries and tobacco, with a hint of flowers. Full-bodied and thick, yet refined, with a wonderfully silky texture and a long, succulent, fruity finish. A class red. Best Luce in years. Sangiovese and Merlot. Best after 2004.
By far, the best Luce wersquo;ve tasted, this rsquo;99 blend of merlot and sangiovese benefited from exceptional harvest conditions following a replenishing August rain. The winersquo;s massive power is immediately apparent from the dark garnet color and the potent scent. Then the feel is plump even as the wine remains hard as steel. A monolithic, mouthfilling red, this coats every pore of the tongue and asks for black and earthy foods, like a ragugrave; of duck and porcini mdash; the wine itself tastes like ripe ground, like the sun on rich, freshly turned earth.
