This merlot has a moderate to deep purple color, a somewhat watery texture, and a fruity, slightly acidic aroma. Although one could do worse for ten bucks, the wine tastes really tart, as if the grapes were under-ripe when harvested, and the tart aftertaste outlasts the fruit and tannins. Yes, one could do worse for ten bucks, but one could also do much better.
